I'm Becky, a Doula based in Cambridge. My aim is to care for and support new parents during this incredibly special and sometimes confusing time. I can help you navigate the vast piles of information and opinions about pregnancy and childbirth so that you can make informed choices and feel happy and prepared throughout the months ahead.

Having the right doula will inspire confidence and a sense of empowerment so that you can enjoy the most positive birth experience and the best start to parenthood.

Doula support can make all the difference. Scientific studies have shown it can result in 25% shorter labour times, reduce the need for interventions and lower risk of postnatal depression.

I'll guide you through the emotional and physical changes of pregnancy, providing unlimited support, answering questions and signposting where appropriate (I work alongside a fantastic community of specialists.)

Preparation for labour and birth

I can provide tailored antenatal education and support for a variety of situations.

Perhaps your baby has gotten into a less than optimal position, you’re navigating an unexpected change of birth plan (like being offered an induction of labour) or you feel that some specialist support would help you achieve the birth you really want for this little one.

I can provide practical support and information, ensuring you make the choices that are right for you.

My Doula Philosophy

With years of experience supporting families in Cambridgeshire, my philosophy is rooted in individualised care. I believe each birth is as unique as each family and deserves bespoke care that reflects your values and needs.

Support provided

Over a series of at least three in person appointments I will support you and your family as you prepare for the birth of your baby, teaching you techniques for a calmer more comfortable labour, providing information, practical guidance and consistent support. Being available via phone or text throughout our entire time together. Additionally I may accompany you to consultations, scans or other appointments if needed. Throughout the on-call period (usually from 38weeks) I will be available 24/7 via phone to ensure that any worries or questions during this important time can be addressed quickly and that when Labour starts I can be with you promptly, staying alongside you until you’re tucked up in bed with baby and they have had a good first feed.

For the first six weeks after your baby arrives I continue to be available over the phone and will visit you at home to debrief your birth, admire your baby and help iron out any tricky issues that come up in those first weeks of parenthood.

Other services

I’m often contacted by those who have had a previously traumatic experience, I am a full spectrum doula with specialist skills in working with women who have complex needs arising from previous birth or life events.

I provide a mentoring service for other birth workers and Doulas.
